VITAE and bathroom design. The natural inspiration by Zaha Hadid arrives in London

Vitae, la colección para el baño de Zaha Hadid Design en exclusiva para Noken by PORCELANOSA llegaba a Londres para ser presentada ante el público de UK.

Vitae, the bathroom collection by Zaha Hadid Design, done exclusively for Noken from the PORCELANOSA Grupo, arrived in London in order to be exhibited to the general public in the UK. The event, in which bathroom design was shown in full, took place at 101 Goswell Road, specifically at Zaha Hadid's design gallery. Selected press groups were invited along to this famous event, which was carefully prepared by the two of the mainstays from Zaha Hadid's architecture studio: Patrik Schumacher and Christos Passas. The staging was unprecedented; full of light, sound and stunning audiovisual content. Certainly, a multisensory experience for the audience, who were able to discover the sinuous bathroom collection from Zaha Hadid in a very unique and surprising way.

The Collection

Vitae is a collection in which all elements have a big design load, together with highly contemporary equipment, which is capable of both surprising and setting trends. Inspired by water and its motion, this bathroom series is characterized by very fluid and organic shapes, which are shown in the design of each of the pieces.

The Vitae taps, shown first at the famous Milan design exhibition, Salone del Mobile, is the introductory element in the collection. Its clean and organic shapes point to Zaha Hadid’s natural inspiration, and furthermore, they are more than capable of surprising anyone who sees them. In fact, the taps were successful at iSaloni, winning the Award for Best Innovative Design of the whole exhibition, according to ArchiExpo. Also, its ergonomic and dynamic design is added to its great commitment to both sustainability and the environment. It incorporates a flow rate limiter to 5.7 litres per minute, which not only minimizes consumption but also promotes water saving.

The natural and multisensory experience that Vitae offers is also felt in other parts of its series, such as the bathtub. Its great aesthetic value makes it indispensable in relation to peace and quiet in the bathroom; that feeling of peace and relaxation so tangible in contemporary bathrooms. Both the cleansing and purification of the soul is another one of Vitae’s objectives, which uses its curved shapes and liquid modernity to make us feel reborn.

The sanitaryware pieces are made totally by hand, each treated individually in fine detail. Again, everything is designed around organic shapes, and inspired by water, such as the basins, sanitaryware and the bidet. The porcelain used for the manufacturing is also of the highest quality, and has optimum finishes, together with resistance, hardness and gloss.

The latest of the pieces from Vitae used to set up a bathroom based on its origin is the shower column, which offers two possible finishes: chrome and white. This column represents the most spectacular design from Vitae, creating a new concept of shower which is certainly ahead of its time.

The bathroom collection from Vitae is a collection of unique character not only because of its uniqueness, but also for being one of the latest collections created by the Anglo-Iraqi architect, Zaha Hadid, who sadly passed away last March. This bathroom collection not only discovers and keeps her inspiration alive in the essence of nature, but still gives more importance to her great legacy as a great muse of contemporary design.
