Sustainable bathrooms: Save water and energy through ECO taps and cisterns

In Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms, design, functionality and innovation are combined in order to offer environmentally friendly bathroom equipment.

One of the main keys for the firm lies in the Ecodesign, where the early planning of the development process and the commitment to research achieve in ensuring the choice of ecological materials, minimising the risks and reaching a high level of efficiency in the resources.

Round taps: future innovation

Joining sustainability and design together is possible thanks to the Round bathroom taps. Pieces of fine stylish lines which offer supreme elegance and sophistication, which save on every drop.

The key lies in the cold water opening system. We are dealing with technology where the lever can only be moved to the left, allowing for temperature control. This results in hot water being used only when it is really necessary, with the corresponding automatic energy saving.

Additionally, the Round taps are provided with a flow rate limiter integrated in the spout of the single lever tap which limits the water consumption by up to a maximum of 5 litres per minute. Bearing in mind that conventional taps offer about 12 litres per minute, water consumption is therefore reduced by approximately 60%.

The Round taps are a clear example of how just through a single bathroom item we can achieve a major water saving, as well as a reduction in energy use and CO2 emissions.

Mega ECO cistern: an act of sustainability

Taking this statement into account, Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms offers a mega ECO cistern suitable for the sanitaryware from the Forma, Lounge and Arquitect collections. This mechanism offers a dual flush system of 6 and 3 litres, or 4.5 and 3 litres, giving a continuous water saving of up to 25% compared to traditional flushing mechanisms.

The mega ECO cistern makes use of half of its possible capacity, and this way there is no unnecessary waste. Thanks to its dual flush button, on one hand, the complete volumen of water can be flushed, whereas on the other hand, when pressing the small flush button only, a reduced amount of 3 litres is released for situations where there is no need for a big flush.

We are dealing with two technologies which look to the future through sustainable and environmentally friendly designs. Pieces with an ECO touch which carry out an inexpensive ecological use of water and energy, without compromising the design, which provides the user with a full bathroom experience.
