Noken at the One Shot Palacio Conde de Torrejon, a finalist at the 11th Porcelanosa Awards
In the very heart of Seville, right in the old part, there is the One Shot Palacio Conde de Torrejon Hotel. A haven with great charm for the guest that reflects the purest Andalusian art, as well as the richness of the traditional Sevillian architecture. The One Shot Conde de Torrejon is the result of the refurbishment carried out by the Alfaro-Manrique studio on an 18th century Palace. An old Baroque manor house of 4500 m2 which has been turned into a charismatic 4-star boutique hotel. Its objective is: to capture and provide the visitor with comfort, while inviting them, through its walls, to explore the history of Seville.
The hotel, which belongs to the nationwide One Shot hotel chain, was a finalist in the latest edition of the 11th PORCELANOSA Grupo Awards and, it was not only for its singular application of the materials and products from the firm in the interior design, but also because of how it has managed to reinvent the concept of art in architecture. Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms is present in its bathrooms, atmospheres created for relaxation that balance tradition and modernity in design.
The bathrooms in the One Shot Conde de Torrejon Hotel: modern-day design vs Classicism
The desired result for the Alfaro-Manrique studio in this project was to reverse the Sevillian tradition of the palace, turning it into a contemporary hotel linked to the world of art, just as it is pursued in all hotels from the hotel chain. In the bathrooms, an attempt at combining current design and classicism has been made, through the introduction of fine materials like marble and a strategic selection of decoration and bathroom equipment. Alfaro-Manrique and One Shot Hotels opted for the quality and elegance by Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms for the taps, basins or toilets, as well as for the bathtub in some of the suites. Ideal pieces for hotel bathrooms because of their exquisiteness and easy maintenance.
The basin taps chosen for the One Shot Palacio Conde de Torrejon bathrooms are the Future model with a high spout. A monoblock with a chrome finish which perfectly combines with the traditional design against the contemporaneity of the rest of the elements. Future is also the collection chosen for bidet taps.
As well as that, the basin is the Glove II of 40cm and countertop floor-standing model, which enhances the minimalism of the bathroom. Regarding the sanitaryware, they are from the Hotels collection, both the toilet and the bidet come in a wall-hung format, to make the practicality and cleanliness of the space that much easier.
Finally, it is worth highlighting the free standing Lounge Oval bathtub, a bathroom design gem that allows for maximum comfort and relaxation for the guests during their stay at the hotel.
The interior design
The origins of this ancient 18th century palace and its memory became the guiding thread in the project, together with a renewing intention. The history of the building is reflected in the intervention, along with a subtle contrast between the rich tradition of Seville and the formal contemporaneity. In addition to the bathrooms, the contrast between history and modernity is observed in each and every one of the hotel rooms, where the structural elements of the old palace have been recovered, such as the marble from the floor tiles, the wood coffered ceiling, the window shutters, the hydraulic tiles or the brick arches in the courtyards. Part of the furniture design and lighting has been developed by the Alfaro-Manrique studio, which has created an architectural gem, which is aimed at evasion in the very heart of Seville.
